Claudia Sheinbaum and Clara Brugada, head of the Government of Mexico City, inaugurated this Monday the Oncological Hospital for Women, located in the Gustavo A. Madero mayor's office. This hospital will play a 'determining role in the health of women' in the capital, as it is expected to perform an average of 500,000 mammograms per year. 'If we guarantee women access to health, we are not only protecting one person, but a family, a community, and the entire country,' affirmed the former mayor of Iztapalapa. In turn, the general director of IMSS-Bienestar, Alejandro Svarch Pérez, detailed that the federal government made an investment of 21 million pesos to 'strengthen the care model in this hospital'. It is expected to benefit 500,000 people 'by strengthening diagnostic capacity and expanding specialized medical services'. He also pointed out that a non-invasive and painless diagnostic team will be installed in the Health Centers of the hospital's network to perform screening studies that allow for rapid detection among the population.
